Satellite Uplink Facility

We provide broadcast media with a dedicated state-of-the-art satellite uplink room at no charge (except for actual satellite booking fees).

University personnel are ready to assist in arranging interviews with experts on a wide variety of subjects.

The satellite uplink facility is located on campus at the University of Utah in The Eccles Broadcast Center.

The University of Utah uplink room has the technical expertise and resources to support full bandwidth audio and video for viewing virtually any place in the world.

Uplink services are free of charge to all accredited broadcast media when interviewing University experts, professors, faculty, staff, and students.

A satellite uplink is the link from our facility up to a communications satellite. An uplink can be used to distribute LIVE or TAPED events to satellite receive sites using domestic or international satellites.

The Satellite Uplink Facility offers the following services:

• Live studio interview coordination

• News and sports feeds

Transmit / Receive Specifications:

• Fixed service Ku and C band transmit and receive earth station antenna.
